The Education Day was a great success with 48 people attending and £30 received in donations. Informative and interesting talks were given by Sister Aideen Ryan [Resuscitation], Christina Tewesbury [When does an ICD need replacing], Dr Para Dhillon [ICDs – Changing, Revising & Extracting]. After a well deserved tea break, Dr Ian Beeton held a Questions/Answers session. The AGM followed and the new Constitution was adopted by the members.

Many members of the 'old' ICDC Committee were present, the only new face was Nicola Charlesworth [Ian Clement’s replacement]. In accordance with the new Constitution and as stated in our earlier email dated 14th March, volunteers had applied for all of the proposed Trustee positions. They, and five new volunteers [who had also applied by email to serve on sub-committees] were offered to the members and were all accepted. The Trustees are now establishing the necessary procedures so that the various sub-committees can start their work. Wish us luck!! Click here to Meet the Committee.
We said good-bye to three members of the Committee - Ian Clement, Karen Harris and Peter Field. All were given a special vote of thanks for all of the hard work that they had contributed to ICDC Surrey, and for Karen and Peter as founder members of the Club. We do hope that you will keep in touch with us, and if you have any new suggestions regarding our future ICDC Surrey work, please let us know.
We continue the original aims that were created by us in 2006, and to expand our areas of support to members across Surrey hospitals. On behalf of us all, again our thanks for what you achieved.
And finally, thank you to everyone who participated in the Education Day. Keep an eye on the website for more information, and details of forthcoming events, or email us.
